Two sources: live public FPL data, and a community historical archive
Ace Analyst doesn't run its own scraper against private endpoints or invent historical coverage it doesn't have. Here's exactly what backs the numbers, and where each source's limits are.
Current season
Public Fantasy Premier League data
Live players, prices, fixtures and squads.
- Players, prices, fixtures and squads for the active season come from the public Fantasy Premier League API
- Only your public FPL team ID is used to read a squad — Ace Analyst never asks for or stores an FPL password
- Nothing here is a private or authenticated endpoint; it is the same public data the official FPL site itself publishes
Historical data
Vaastav FPL Historical Dataset
Fixture-level history behind Comparison's multi-season mode and every Matchups record.
- Historical, fixture-level records used in Player Explorer, Comparison (multi-season mode) and Matchups come from the community-maintained Vaastav FPL Historical Dataset
- Coverage is up to seven seasons, 2019/20 through 2025/26, and varies by player and by opponent pairing — Ace Analyst shows the sample size rather than implying uniform coverage
- This archive is not an official Premier League or Fantasy Premier League product
The historical archive is the Vaastav FPL Historical Dataset (github.com/vaastav/Fantasy-Premier-League), distributed under the MIT License, © 2017–19 Vaastav Anand. Ace Analyst is grateful for the work this open dataset represents and credits it here and inside the application.
Update cadence — read before assuming real-time history
The upstream project's own weekly updates ended after the 2024/25 season. Historical archive updates are now expected at the start of a season, after the January transfer window, and after the season ends — not continuously. Ace Analyst does not claim real-time refresh of historical records; only the current season's live data comes from the public FPL API in-season.
What this means for a matchup or comparison
Read the coverage, not just the headline
"Up to seven seasons" describes the outer bound of the archive, not a guarantee for every player or every opponent pairing. A player who transferred into the Premier League in 2023/24 will not have 2019/20 history, and a newly promoted club will not have matchup history against every opponent. Comparison and Matchups both show the actual sample behind a figure rather than presenting partial coverage as complete.

A separate source from FPL data and the historical archive above — kept separate here on purpose. Source data and Ace-derived analytics are not the same thing.

- Aggregated, consensus sports-market pricing data, not a feed from any single source
- Used only as an input signal — no prices or source names are shown anywhere in Ace Analyst
- Captured periodically, not streamed live
Calculated by Ace Analyst
- Team xG — a market-derived expected-goals estimate for a team's specific fixture
- Clean-sheet probability
- Scoring probability (at least one goal)
- Win, draw and loss probability
Source data vs. Ace-derived analytics
None of the four figures on the right are published directly by any external source — Ace Analyst calculates every one of them from the market data on the left. That's different from the FPL data and historical archive above, which Ace Analyst displays largely as supplied. See Methodology for how.
